How can I add an email address to the whitelist?

Recently Updated

Question: One of my colleagues' emails is incorrectly marked as spam and I receive it in the junk folder. How can I set it up to receive it in the inbox?

Affects: WebHosting

- Introduction

All outgoing and incoming email communication on WebHosting|4U services passes through antispam and antivirus filters for the best and healthiest operation of email services.

An email message is marked as spam and directed to the junk folder if it receives a score higher than the one set.

The score is ranked according to the filters it violates and is therefore considered spam.

For example, an email will receive a score of 0.5 if it has all capital letters in the subject and will receive a score of 1.5 if it has only one image in HTML in the body of the message.

By accumulating the score, if it violates the allowed limit, it is marked as spam.

1.0 LM_ATTACH_NAME_SUSPICIOUS Attachment has a suspicious naming convention
1.0 LM_SUBJ_RECIPS_ATTACH_SUSP Message contains a suspicious subject sent to no logical recipients.
1.5 LM_SUSP_ATTACH_SHORT_MSG Hits LM_SUSPICIOUS_ATTACHMENT. Very short message sent to no logical recipients.
1.5 LM_SUSP_ATTACH_FREEMAIL1 Hits LM_SUSPICIOUS_ATTACHMENT. Score bump for missing header and from an outlook source.
1.0 LM_SUSP_ATTACH_AND_NAME Hits LM_SUSPICIOUS_ATTACHMENT and LM_ATTACH_NAME_SUSPICIOUS. Sent to no logical recipients.

There are cases where we want to receive an email from a sender in the inbox or in any other IMAP folder we have set, but not in the junk folder.

In this case, all email addresses we want to receive in the inbox must be placed in the whitelist so that they do not pass through email filters.

- Plesk panel entry

To add an email address to the whitelist, we configure it from our Plesk hosting account.

After logging in to our Plesk account, we select from the left menu the "Mail" option.

We will be presented with a list of available email addresses for all our domains.

We select the email address where we want to add a sender to the whitelist.

After selecting the email address, we select the "Spam Filter" tab and click on "Show Advanced Settings"

In the fields that open, especially in the "Whitelist" field, we add the email address of the sender that we never want to pass through antispam filter.

Wildcard functionality is supported. If we want all email addresses from a specific domain name to be received in the inbox, we write it in the wildcard format

*@domain.gr

We press Ok and the process is complete.

In a new line, we add any additional senders we want to have in the whitelist.

The process needs to be done separately for each email address.
