How can I see my email backup?
Recently UpdatedFor all mailboxes, regardless of the hosting package chosen by the customer, email backup is supported up to 15 days ago.
For long-term email archiving, the additional service Email Archive, will store your emails up to 12 years, without any limit on the total email size.
Functionality
With the Mail Time Machine service, you can:
- View the available emails stored in our backup up to 15 days ago.
- View email headers & message source.
- Download individual messages in .eml format for MS-Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird.
- Request full mailbox restoration in case of significant damage.
The backups are offered as "read only" and cannot be deleted or edited in the Mail Time service.
The available backup up to 15 days ago is a "snapshot", a "picture" of your mailbox and data that have been stored in our systems for a specific period of time.
If you have set up access to your email client using POP3, it is not possible to restore emails, as POP3 access through the email client deletes emails from the mailserver and therefore they are not available in the Mail Time Service.
If you want to use POP3 for your email client, by setting the "leave messages on server for X days" option, your emails will be available in the Mail Time Service for the specified period.
Access to backup
The connection to the email backup environment (Mail Time Machine) is available from the following URL
Log in with your email address & password that you already have for your main email.
After successful login, the following image will appear

Select the date you want.
Your mailbox will appear as it was on the selected date.
You can select a different date from the top right option.

Method #1 - Downloading individual emails
Right-click on the email that interests you to restore

and select "Download"
The email will download to your desktop as .eml where you can open it with Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird.
Method #2 - Restoring to mailbox
In the case where you have accidentally deleted more than 2+ emails or an entire folder or multiple folders, you can request restoration of these emails or folders to one of the 15 days before the "current" date.
To request restoration, log in to the Mail Time Machine service, select the date you want, and click the green button on the top left "Request Restoration"
We will receive your request and inform you about the execution.
The backup restoration process is a chargeable action (€67 + VAT, per restore request) The messages you already have in the inbox will not be deleted. Only the missing emails will be restored. Folder restoration is also a chargeable action (€87 + VAT) and you should be aware that the date from which you want to restore is important.
